About Bijrani Zone
Bijrani Range is located close to Amdanda Gate anear Ramnagar. Visitors can have higher probablity of tiger sighting during Bijrani Safari. Accommodation inside Bijrani Zone With in Bijrani Zone, Forest rest houses are located in Bijrani and Malani. The rest house at Bijrani has six rooms (Four with double beds and two with single bed) and dormitory consisting of four beds. The compound has its own restaurant and canteen. About jhirna Zone
Jhirna is located on the southern periphery of Corbett Tiger Reserve. The animal population also comprises sloth bear and wild elephants which provide great sights for the wild life enthusiasts. Jhirna zone is open throughout the year. The Jhirna jeep safari zone is one of the most eye-catching spots inside the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Day visit to Jhirna Zone is through Dhela Gate which is 20 Kms from Ramnagar. Its main topography mainly constitutes deciduous and secondary forest interspersed with plush open grasslands that offer amazingly good visibility of wild animals.
Jhirna is prominent for easy wildlife spotting. The zone was once a village, which was later translocated to some other place and now become a dense forest. About Durga Devi Zone
Durga Devi Zone is the hill safari zone filled with wildlife beauty and adventure within the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Located at the North-Eastern side of the reserve, this area is cris crossed by Ramganga and Mandal rivers at several places. This zone is particularly famous for sighting wild elephants and Otters at Domunda Bridge. Famous Mahsheer fish can also be seen in the river water of Durga Devi zone. Lush green forest in this range provides ample opportunity for bird watching as well.
Tourist can stay for night in Lohachaur Forest Rest House of this zone. Visitors can take Jeep safari to enjoy wildlife in the zone. Booking for the zone can be done using the official website. Durga Devi Zone is open for visitors from 15 October to 15 June and remains closed during monsoon season.
Durgadevi gate is the entry gate to this zone, which is located at the distance of 28 km from the nearest city of Ramnagar which makes it the farthest zone from the Ramnagar. This zone has also a forest rest house named Lohachaur forest house where tourists can enjoy the night stay and get the utmost experience of the dense raw forest. This is the newest and sixth eco-tourism zone that was opened for tourists in December 2014. Dhela Ecotourism zone remains open for tourists throughout the year. This zone is extremely rich in flora and fauna. The zone spreads over 1,173 hectares, which has mixed forests of Sal, Rohini, Haldu, Bahera, Kusum vegetation, and tigers, leopards, Asiatic elephants, sloth bears and king cobras. The area is particularly rich in bird diveristy. This zone is rich in the fauna species too with the animals like the Royal Bengal tiger, leopards, wild elephants, Nilgai, different species of Deer, wild bears and the various species of reptiles and birds. This zone is well known especially for the vast range of bird species and considered as the best zone for birding. The Palain and the Mandal are the perennial streams of the sanctuary. Historically, it was carved out of Kalagarh Forest Division. It was brought under the umbrella of Project Tiger and became a part of the Corbett Tiger Reserve in 1991 and also a part of Project Elephant. There are no villages inside the sanctuary. The forests of Pakhro are remarkable for dense sal and rich bamboo clusters besides other species and is teeming with wildlife.
